Episode 1 – An Unexpected Podcast (The Hobbit & The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey)

On this episode of Three Men and a Podcast we discuss The Hobbitboth the 1977 made-for-TV version and the 2012 blockbuster from director Peter Jackson.  Pat tells us a story about a strange encounter late at night, we talk about our favorite movies in the “What We’re Watching” segment, and we review the trailers for Star Trek: Into Darkness, Oblivion, and Beautiful Creatures during the “Pump Up.”

Show intro clip pulled from:
Leonard Nimoy’s classic ballad (gotta love those outfits)

Show break clip pulled from:
Louie, the hit TV show created by and starring Louis C.K.

Seriously , two clips for the entire show? Man, was Pierce lazy this week or what?

  1. Hey guys! Sounds great from NYC. I have a recommendation for you guys in the future: there’s an exhibit at the MoMA right now about the Quay brothers… They’re really interesting as people and do these really beautiful stop animation films. You can see their inspiration in a lot of movies today. You movie buffs would probably appreciate them and their work.

    • That’s so great to hear! Be sure to leave us a voicemail if you have something you want to talk about from this episode – we’ll feature it on our next show and talk about it live! Just click the “voicemail” link on the menu and upload an audio file. We’re trying to get a phone number too so that you can call instead of having to prerecord something.
Stay tuned for our next episode on Christmas Eve, and check back for any announcements (or sign up with your facebook so we can send you an email if anything changes – we promise we won’t flood your inbox!)

-Pedro, and the guys from 3MaaP
